FMHAC committees

Conference Planning Committee

The Conference Planning Committee reviews and recommends papers submitted for inclusion in the annual conference.  The committee selects the keynote speaker, wrap-up speaker, panelists and workshops. 
Membership is recommended by the Director of Conference and approved by the President.  Membership is for one year and members may be re-appointed to successive terms.  FMHAC tries to ensure that the members reflect the diversity of the Association’s membership.

The Membership Committee reviews member benefits annually, recommendations changes to benefits, and develops additional benefits.

Newsletter Committee

The Newsletter Committee develops each FMHAC Newsletter, including development of themes, recruiting writers, writing and editing selections.  The committee selects the keynote speaker, wrap-up speaker, panelists and workshops. 
Membership is recommended by the Secretary and approved by the President.  Membership is for one year and members may be re-appointed to successive terms.  FMHAC tries to ensure that the members reflect the diversity of the Association’s membership.

Public Policy Committee

The Public Policy Committee advocates for policies, research, laws and regulations that provide for safe and effective forensic mental health programs.  It formulates public policy statements and provides timely advice to the Board and Association members on pending or proposed legislation relating to forensic mental health. Read our Policy Platform, and our current and past initiatives.
Membership is recommended by the Vice President and approved by the President, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.  Membership is for one year to coincide with the Association’s fiscal year and members may be re-appointed to successive terms.  FMHAC tries to ensure that the members reflect the diversity of the Association’s membership.

About the Conference Planning Committee

The objective of the committee is to develop a conference program. The Chair of this committee, the Director of Conference, heads 4 members

Membership is recommended by the Director of Conference and approved by the President.  Membership is for one year and members may be re-appointed to successive terms.  FMHAC tries to ensure that the members reflect the diversity of the Association’s membership.

A schedule of committee meetings, including one 2-day weekend meeting, is established at the beginning of the term and meetings may be held as necessary at the discretion of the Chair.  Meetings may be held in person or by conference call.
